Building community resilience to promote mental health in bushfire-affected communities

A team of researchers from the Research School of Psychology, Research School of Population Health, the ANU Medical School, and the University of Wollongong were recently awarded funding from the Medical Research Futures Fund for a three-year project to research building community resilience to promote mental health in bushfire-affected communities from the ACT and the NSW South Coast. The project will especially focus on the preparedness and resilience of mental health professionals in those communities, and will work with local Aboriginal communities to address their particular needs.
