My research focuses on visual attention in both laboratory experiments and applied settings, with a particular focus on attention and driving. Past and present research topics include inattentional blindness, attentional blink, visual search, dual-task performance, driver training and driver behavior, using methods including eye tracking, simulation and on-road studies in instrumented vehicles.
After completing my PhD in cognitive psychology, I spent two years as a Research Fellow at the Monash University Accident Research Centre. From 2013-2016 I was employed as a Lecturer in the ANU Research School of Psychology, before moving to the Centre for Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems at the University of the Sunshine Coast in February 2016.
